It is already Wednesday, and there is only one more week before school starts. We enrolled Oliver yesterday at school and it seems to be a nice and friendly school.
Job hunting continues with more interviews this week for both Sanna and Niclas.
Today Jessica, Sanna and Oliver met in town and then had a nice lunch in the Rocks before walking across the Harbour Bridge – and stopping in the Pylon to climb the stairs (200 of them) to the top and have a lovely view over the Harbour. After the pylon, we continued out walk to Milsons Point and took the train back. A beautiful day and well worth checking the pylon to read about the construction of the bridge. We will be taking visitors there. This was something I have had planned todo for a long time.
This week Oliver has been to a sailing camp at MHYC. It is a 4-day camp for little people. He has been at the camp with his friend Morgan. The forecast for the week was rain, but it has been OK. Monday was very windy and they stayed near the shore. Tuesday they did some sailing and today they were towed over to a more sheltered part of the harbour and sailed and practiced to capsize.
It has now been 10-days since we arrived and we are getting more and more settled.
Oliver is attending a sailing camp this week and even if it rained all day yesterday, and all night, it did hold up for most of the day – and he had fun.
I have been out walking every morning (apart from Sunday when it poured down) and this morning was beautiful as I walked through the forest, which is full of Eucalyptus trees – the smell post-rain was fantastic.
A couple of wonderful days have been had here in Sydney. We went to the beach for the first time this time around yesterday, when we went to Balmoral Beach and met up with some friends. Had a fantastic couple of hours and ended the time with lunch
Oliver enjoyed the sand and built a sandman.
Today, we went down to the Olympic pool in North Sydney withOliver and his friend – and spent a couple of lovely hours there.
After a week now (or just about) it feels as if we are getting into a normal life living.
After 5 days here we are getting back into routines and feeling at home again.
Most of the stuff we brought (only 30 kgs each plus hand luggage) have been unpacked and we are getting organised.
It is different to move into a 3-bed flat where Jessica and Fredrik have lived for two years together. Oliver, Niclas and Sanna share the master bedroom. We have a sofabed and a single bed, which makes it into a nice room daytime. Even managed to get a desk in there.
Niclas and Sanna are busy looking for work, as well as Jessica who would like to start working fulltime after 4 years at Uni where she has just completed a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with an Honours degree.
Fredrik is working with First Robotics during the summer break (he works there in his spare time during Uni). The build season started on the 4th of Jan and as well as mentoring one of the Australien teams, he runs a Robot Camp for kids in juniorschool. Oliver attended a camp yesterday and today.
Oliver had a great day and is looking forward to building his own (he brought his MindStorm robot with him).
The weather here in Sydney is great and we are enjoying the heat and the sun. Not yet had the time to go to the beach – been full on – but today Niclas is out sailing on Wailea and Sanna will head to the nearest pool for som sun.
