Xmas 2015 in Sydney

JulgranenXmas was celebrated on Xmas eve in our place in Waverton with all the kids and Erin.

Julafton firades hemma hos oss i Waverton tillsammans med alla barnen och Erin.

Started with afternoon tea, including yummy xmas cakes, followed by presents that had been waiting under the tree. After this we all watched the traditional ‘Kalle Anka’ (from a few years back) and translated for Erin.

Vi började med julfika med en massa julgott och sen paketutdelning, paketen hade legat klara under granen ett tag. Efter detta tittade vi alla på ett avsnitt av Kalle Anka (från några år sedan) och det direktöversattes till Erin.

Xmas dinner was nice and we had both homemade Glögg and two different homemade snaps. Fredrik had made a yummy Xmas version, with apple and cinnamon. This will be our new Xmas Snaps. The Glögg was eaten with Cranberries and Macadamiens, again a new version for Aussie xmas (we had run out of Raisins and almonds).

A great day had by all. Vi hade en fantastisk dag.

Xmas day was celebrated at Erin’s family in Hornsby heights, a lovely lunch followed by a quiet afternoon lazying around the pool.

Juldagen firades hemma hos Erins familj i Hornsby Heights, först en mycket trevlig lunch och sen en eftermiddag vid poolen.

Niclas 50

Birthdayboy

Family HolidayWe celebrated Niclas 50th birthday in the Hunter valley, staying at Millas Vineyard. We spent 4 days with the family and had a great time, despite the weather turning cold and rainy on us… but we had some great days with boardgames, chess and visiting vineyards, including some lovely wine tastings. Lots of bottles made it back to Sydney in the car.

The final morning, which was Xmas eve morning, we saw the sun and were able to have breakfast on the verandah.

Weekend trip to the Blue Mountains 17-18 October

Sanna and Niclas went to the Blue Mountains for a weekend to spend a night at the Palais Royale. Sanna had won the weekend away at the Xmas in July party at work.

We decided to take the train there, and we had a great weekend. The Saturday was warm and sunny. After lunch in Katoomba, we checked in at the hotel and then walked down to the Scenic world to have a look around. Ended up going on the steepest incline railway in the world.

Drinks at another iconic hotel in Katoomba, lovely Art Deco before dinner.

Waking up on Sunday morning, the cloud base was below ground and we decided on some changed plans for the day. Took the train to Wentworth falls where we found a nice Art Deco coffeeshop and bookshop to sit and ponder and have lunch at before heading back towards Sydney on the train.

Got off at Parramatta and took the ferry back to Sydney, down in the valley below the mountains the sun was shining.

Family Adventure – 6 April

This weekend we went on a family outing to the Trees adventure at Groose River Park. The weather was great and we had an early start there, and the park was quiet. Only us five and three more people on the course. We had a  great day together. Oliver, as a child, was only allowed on two of the courses. The rest of us climbed 1 or two more higher courses. Everyone had a great day out and we decided to do this again.

Easter 2015

The first two days of the Easter Long weekend was very rainy and wet. We did not do much at all, stayed at home and got things done.

Easter Sunday the sun came out again and it was a lovely day. Went for two lovely walks and had a nice Easter family lunch in the middle. Fredrik set up an easter egg hunt for Oliver and Jessica and then we also had some Swedish easter traditions.

Jessicas Graduation

Today we are very proud over Jessicas achievements as she graduated from Sydney University today with a Bachelor of Science (Advanced), Honours Class 1 in Physiology.

An beautiful ceremony in the Great Hall of Sydney University. It was a lovely and warm day and we had drinks on the lawns after.

Following the ceremony we went for lunch by the Harbour to continue the celebrations.
